And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature’Mark 16:15 NKJV
On the last day of our 21 Day Daniel Fast, remember the above Scripture; this is a command for each and every one of us. The lost in the world are crying out for a savior, whether they know it or not. They crave salvation and freedom, and it’s up to us to point them in the right direction. To do that, we have to walk like Jesus in front of them, so that they see a difference in us. Each of us has a ‘field’ that we’re called to, whether it be home, work, school, or our family. It’s that field that God wants us to go into and reap a harvest for Him; in Acts 2, we’re told that the Church, the group that gathered in the upper room, increased in number daily because they were different, because they were praising, because God was moving among them.
If we would be like those in Acts 2, “in one mind and one accord,” we would see the Kingdom added to daily and our churches filled. Those people at work need someone who will show them what Jesus was like, and you are just that person. You can be the beacon of hope in their life, even when it looks darkest. Jesus is the light of the world, but we also, as the Holy Spirit resides in us, are a beacon of hope pointing the way to Jesus. As the Fast draws to a close, make it your prayer today that the Holy Spirit would make your light shine brighter than ever before, that you would see more souls saved than ever before, that you would reap a harvest bigger than ever before!
Prayer for the Day:
Lord, here I am, send me. Use me. Witness through me. There’s a “field” in my home. There’s a “field” in my neighborhood. There’s a “field” on my job. There’s a “field” in this city. There’s a “field” in my family. Oh God, forgive me for not praying; forgive me for not witnessing. Forgive me for not really believing that I can “reap a harvest” for You. Forgive me for not believing that You can use my influence, my affluence, everything that I have to reach the lost for Your glory right where I am! Father, I ask You to use me as a light to a dark dying world. I give You glory and I give You praise for all that You will do through me! In Jesus’ Name, amen.
